How to: Easy Beach Waves

[cf-shortcode plugin=”cft” field=”Hidden Thought”]

As we edge closer to Summer fun, I can’t help but think about little beach trips. What are some great things about the beach? Plentiful sunshine, an ice cold drink in your hand, people laughing as they run from incoming waves, kids building sandcastles, and beach hair. I might not be able to bring the joys of the beach to you, but I can show you how to get those beautiful beach waves without even being there. Just follow this easy step-by-step tutorial to create your own beach hair at any time of year!

How to get beach waves

Step one.

Beach waves step one

Wash and condition hair. You’ll need to start with wet hair. I’m using the new John Frieda® Beach Blonde™ Cool Dip™  Shampoo and the Beach Blonde™ Smooth Seas™  Conditioner. These products aren’t just for blondes though – women with any hair color can use them! They both have a refreshing minty fragrance and prep hair for beachy style.

Step two.

Next, spray the John Frieda® Beach Blonde™ Sea Waves™ Sea Salt Spray in hair. This spray features a coconut scent and texturizes hair for a tousled, undone style. It’s the perfect product to help us with our beach waves and this too can be used on all hair colors.

Step three.

Add a few quick braids around your hair. This step is optional but helps add a little more varying texture to the style. We’re keeping these in place for the drying process.

Step four.

Dry hair with a diffuser attached to your hair dryer. This will speed up drying time for this style and will prevent hair from frizzing while keeping our overall beach style intact. If you have the time, you can let your hair air dry. You can also take out the braids at this point – or you can leave them in for extra style elements.

Step five.

Add product of your choice to smooth any frizz you might have and lock the style in place. I used mousse for this step.  Also, add more of the Sea Waves™ Sea Salt Spray if you feel like you need to emphasize the waves a little more!

All done and so easy! Now you can create an undone, tousled look any time you’re missing the beach!

If you want to try this style for yourself, look for the John Frieda® Beach Blonde™ products  at Walmart, in the hair care aisle.

QUESTION OF THE POST: What products do you use to achieve beach waves? Have you tried the Beach Blonde™ collection? I’d love to know!

I love the look you created – the idea of leaving your small braids in even after you’ve finished styling is such a fun idea. I’m missing my long hair right now! #client
