My First Blow Out

First blow out

Just last week I had my very first blow out at a local blow dry bar that just opened where I live. Can you believe I waited so long to get one?! I know some people get them done pretty frequently. Now I know what the hype is about! Keeping reading for details about my experience.

When I found an email in my inbox inviting me to the new blow dry bar, I was ecstatic. I’ve heard about blow dry bars and how awesome they were, but had never been to one. I also had never had a blow out, so this was going to be a pretty new experience for me.

This is Cherry Blow Dry Bar….

It’s so cute inside! Red chairs line the bar area and the counter holds beauty tools and products for the stylists to use. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling for an ultra-chic and classy vibe.

I went in with my hair unwashed. The stylist, Taylor, took me to the wash stations where  she cleansed my hair and brought it back to life! Then, we went over to the “bar” so she could begin to style my hair. She asked me some questions about my hair and then started clipping it up in sections. As she worked on drying my hair with a round brush, we talked about all things makeup and beauty.  Before I knew it, she was already putting the finishing touches on my ‘do with a curling iron. When she finished, I checked it out in the mirror and was amazed! I had never seen my hair like this! It looked full, bouncy, and had star-quality curls. Better yet, it wasn’t crunchy or hard – just soft and glamorous.

Before and After the blowout

Before and after a blowout

I could never achieve this hair style on my own. I curl my hair occasionally and I try to add as much volume as I can, but I never get it to this level of awesome.

Taylor gave me some tips on how to make the style last for a couple of days. So right before bed, I twisted my hair and clipped it up so the curls could keep their shape. The next day, I took my hair down to find the basic style still intact. I just had to refresh my roots with some dry shampoo. I also used a curling iron to touch up the curls a little. It didn’t look exactly like it had the day prior, but I hadn’t expected it to after sleeping on it. Still, it looked pretty good.

Here’s my 2nd day style….

I’m excited to go back and try a different style (they offer everything from braids to updos!).  I would definitely get this style again too.

Thanks Cherry Blow Dry Bar (and especially Taylor!) for making my hair look gorgeous!!

Thank you. I had a feeling they would be addictive. Maybe that’s why I held off for so long! Haha
