Milani Gel Powder Shadows

This month, with my Ipsy bag, I received a bonus item that I redeemed my points for. In fact, it wasn’t just one item, but a set of three. They are the Milani Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eye Shadows.

There are 30 shades available on Milani’s website. They retail for just $4.49 each (and cheaper some places), which is a pretty great price for an eyeshadow if the quality is good. These shadows are said to have “vibrant color that glides on in a single stroke.” The gel powder part sounds confusing, but it refers to the product starting as a gel and being transformed into a powder when it’s made. These shadows can be applied wet or dry.

My 3 shades:

    • Bella Ivory (Satin Matte)
    • Bella Gold (Metallic)
    • Bella Espresso (Satin Matte)

So the question is….are they worth trying?

I say yes!

The swatches give you a glimpse of their potential…

I created an eye look using all three shadows and I was surprised by their quality. They applied easily and blended nicely. For drugstore brand eyeshadow, they are pretty awesome! I wouldn’t say they’re quite as good as the shadows in my LORAC Pro Palette or my Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette, but they’re not too far down the scale. I’m impressed.  For the price you pay, I think they’re worth it. I noticed they don’t crease or shift on the eyelid either.

I’m not sure if I’ll get more of them and the only reason is because I tend to use palettes more than single shadows. Palettes are just more convenient and I reach for them the most. I have waayyy too many single eye shadows that I don’t use – even MAC ones!

Overview

Worth the price? Yes!

Do I recommend them? Yes. You should definitely try one or two.

Good Quality? Yes. Impressive for a drugstore brand.

Have you tried any of the gel powder eyeshadows? What did you think of them?
