Have you ever tried a BB cream? I love them! Read on to find out more about BB creams vs. tinted moisturizers vs. foundations and a review of the Garnier Oil-free BB Cream!

What is a BB cream?
A BB cream, or beauty balm, is a multi-functional facial product that takes the role of a moisturizer, primer, foundation, and sunscreen all in one. BB creams have been popular in Asia for a long time, but have recently been introduced to the U.S. market. Both high end and drugstore brands have been coming out with their own of this multi-beneficial product.

BB Cream vs. Tinted Moisturizer
While BB creams and tinted moisturizers are similar, they are not the same. Tinted moisturizers are more basic products. They’re simply moisturizers with some added color for minimal coverage. BB creams can give you good coverage while providing hydration, sun protection, and staying power.

BB Cream vs. Foundation
Foundation usually comes in a big range of colors for most skin tones. They’re meant to provide coverage and even out skin tone. They come in a variety of finishes and textures. BB creams are usually available in just a few shades and act as a foundation. You might need to use a primer to help make a foundation last; BB creams have their own built-in primer. When comparing BB creams to cream/liquid foundations, I’d say BB cream tend to be more lightweight and natural looking.

My thoughts

I’ve been using this BB cream (in light/medium) everyday since I got it. It’s great for adding coverage without feeling heavy. My skin looks luminous and glow-y all day, but never greasy. I don’t have to touch-up or reapply; it lasts all day. While using this product, I haven’t had to use moisturizer, primer, or foundation – it does it all for me. It’s such a low maintenance product!

Here’s my before and after pictures:

Without makeup, I have some discoloration on my cheeks and around my eyes to be evened out. The Garnier BB Cream balances out my complexion and helps to create a flawless appearance.

You look great without the bb cream and makeup but I like all your pictures. I’m not a makeup person but I was telling my friend about buying this. Thanks I had a question how do you get that button that shows all the sites you are on?
