I’ve been playing with some makeup again! Is that ever a surprise? Almay offered to send me some products to try and along came a little package with some of their Smart Shade products: Skintone Matching Makeup, Blush, and Bronzer.

Almay Smart Shade Skintone Matching Makeup
This makeup comes in 3 different shades that adjust to your skintone, making color selection really simple. It provides natural looking coverage and contains broad spectrum SPF 15 for sun protection.
Self-adjusting products like this are always interesting because they come out looking nothing like your skin tone and as you rub them in, they start to blend more and more until they match exactly. It’s magical to watch.
For this product, light/medium (the middle shade) works the best for my skin tone, but medium also works. I find that this makeup gives me light coverage that doesn’t look or feel heavy. It’s great for a day when I don’t want to be too done up and have opted for a natural vibe.
Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush and Powder Bronzer
What fun is makeup without some blush and bronzer!? Both of these powders have bricks of color that can be swirled together for a perfectly blended hue.
The blush comes in 3 shades. The one pictured above is in the shade Pink. There’s also Coral and Nude/Mauve. The bronzer comes in one color – Sunkissed.
With the blush, my cheeks get a nice flush of color and the bronzer gives that just-out-of-the-sun glow. They both have great color payoff, so a little swirl around each color will do the trick. I also can’t help but love designs on powder products; aren’t those stars cute??

I have to say, I haven’t used a whole lot of Almay products. I’m always open to trying different brands though. You never know when you’re going to find some hidden gems!
